Where it Began

Fraidoon (Fred) Izadi’s career started when he arrived in Atlanta, GA in 1977. He supported himself by working in a restaurant as a waiter during his college years. He graduated from Georgia Southern University with a degree in  Electrical Engineering.  After graduation, he worked for the 3M Company as an electrical engineer for 12 years while also continuing to manage a restaurant. His interest in the restaurant business grew and became a passion and his life’s career.In 1997, he bought his first restaurant (Aldo’s Italian Restaurant).  In 2002, he opened Merlot Restaurant in Johns Creek, GA. He sold Merlots in 2009 and opened Babas Gyro and Kabob in Cumming, GA in 2010. He sold Baba’s in 2019.
